Who would you vote for President at Manguang 2012?

Due to our particular brand of democracy, ordinary citizens of SA do not get to vote for who they'd prefer to see as our President. That privilege seems reserved to the "ruling party" and their processes.

Which doesn't mean we can't hold a poll and get comments from the ordinary citizen anyway
    20
    Jacob Zuma
    0%
    1
    Kgalema Motlanthe
    0%
    8
    Neither (no vote)
    0%
    11

Helen Zille, seems to be the only one with big enough balls to take on anyone. My vote would be her and, she would also be the first women president.

The ANC is such a corrupt and racist organisation, that they should not be allowed to govern at all. Unfortunately they have seen fit to keep the majority of South Africans uneducated so that they can be fooled with a T-shirt and a can of coke to believe in all the empty promises being made. Sad, but true.

Well I always thought the world would end this year so I haven’t given next year much thought. I was hopping actually that DNA activation was a reality but again it was just some dude that wanted a little attention.

Well I don’t see our current government going anywhere for a very long time. Fact is they will just play the race card on each and every election. So moving house to another country is basically the only change you will see for the next fifty to a hundred years. Or you can just buy a Nando's and pay with one of our brand new bills and get some change there...

Other then that I see investments dropping, banks making large bailout loans, devaluation of currency and massive job loss...

Needless to say that a leadership within this organization will have no substantial effect.

Where is the ancient when you need them

Sadly it looks like JZ will win this race again. It is absolutely shocking to think people with even two brain cells could even consider voting him in again.

Here's a wicked thought - if the ANC re-elects JZ, one of the winners is probably going to be the DA

I would imagine that everyone thinks the DA is the answer. I am sorry to say but no. The DA needs to overcome their biggest obstacle… There ego… They are over opinionated they overstate there importance and think they can treat masses like children.

See they think that the people must earn there respect. Remember the toilet fiasco not to long ago? Remember what was said on TV? There I saw the ego of the DA...

What we need is an educated board with a strong moral standing. That simply doesn’t exist.

Why does the cANCer even bother to have a vote if it has already been decided that Zuma would be re-elected?

Because it aint over till the fat lady sings, remember Thabo at Polokwane? he also thought it was a foregone conclusion.
A lot af ABZ supporters are singing and wearing JZ Tshirts so that they are not excluded from voting at Manguang, but wait for the vote??? stranger things have happened.

And what happens if JZ squeaks in and they decide JZ must go when the DA get their no confidence vote, only need 20% more to swing it, and that will mean the whole cabinet must resign!! wouldn't that be a nice new year present?

Imagine someone describing you as a ‘violent hooligan?’ Well, The Mail and Guardian ran this story(Oh I love the way our South African media can sensationalise things!):
                        'Violent hooligans' interrupt ANC nominations
                        http://mg.co.za/article/2012-12-01-violent-hooligans-interrupt-limpopo-anc-nominations
" The group is believed to be supporters of President Jacob Zuma."
"[The] conference was collapsed [on Friday night] by violent hooligans," provincial spokesperson
                        Makonde Mathivha said
                        .

: I would nominate Kalema Mothlanthe. I perceive him to be a liberal. Perhaps I’m reading him wrong but he comes across as someone who wants to maintain the status quo in terms of stability, peace etc. He appears to be a reasonable minded individual. He doesn’t have any skeletons in his closet!

I was waiting for the fall out from M&G publishing the KPMG report last Friday.
The one follow up article in M&G implies everyone just accepts that patronage is just part of our politics!
Susan Booysen, politics lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand, said the public had become “saturated with reports on wheeling and dealin, enrichment and kept politicians”.

“That is probably the scariest thing about it all. It is so pervasive that it does not actually draw that much attention. That is a severe indictment on the state of South African politics,” she said.

Booysen said there was a “deeply entrenched patronage system” in the party, as illustrated by the concept of cadreship.
Wow we are now truly part of Africa

It's the lack of significant response to the M&G revelations from all over that has me stunned at the moment.

Yes, the ANC official response is essentially "it's JZ's private business - nothing to do with us and it doesn't affect a thing from our point of view", but that was expected at this point.

Maybe everyone else is doing what I'm doing - see what happens at Mangaung. If JZ's dirty laundry doesn't get an airing at all...

                            ??

I'm seriously struggling with the thought that the ANC top brass might think they can ignore it.

What will happen when JZ does fall out with the ANC? Will he be set upon like what is happening with Julius?
