    Deadlines

I'm frustrated as heck. I'm having to deal with a person who has absolutely no concept of what a "deadline" really means in the real world.

Or the term "default" for that matter.

Causing totally unnecessary stress in my life!

This should have been such a smooth end-of-month

    Phew! Made it anyway.

That's the closest month end run I've had in a while. I absolutely hate having to rely on money coming on the day.

I'm sure a man of your calibre can come up with a better insult than that.

I hate end of month with a passion, it's two days where I feel I have no control and just pray it all goes smoothly.

I did, but it wasn't appropriate for civilised company.

Needless to say the deposit requirements have been doubled for this client's next contract.
Not that I think that'll bother them much - but it does reduce the prospects of unexpectedly finding myself up against the ropes again because paying on time (or even within 10 days after being put on notice) was just too much trouble.

I don't blame you, especially in the current climate. Companies that cause me headaches or bank charges bacause they late pay not only suffer in their deposit requirements for new projects or jobs, they also find themselves on a different pricing structure entirely.

Sounds like its not his understanding of what a deadline means that is the problem. More likely he is just not competent.

I love it when things go full circle. Just stuff them around for exactly the same time frame with the refund

                    Meh.

My experience is there's no sense in escalating these things. A reasonably prompt refund might induce a more co-operative response in future.

I would certainly hang on for acouple of days, I had a double payment once that showed in my account for aday or two then mysteriously disappeared entirely, not even showing as a reversal, just 'poof' gone. I enquired what the issue was and they said it was an unspecified glitch with online banking system when the payment was made. Luckily I hadn't made the refund back to them, if I had it would have compounded the problem.

Some people just have no sense of urgency. I sometimes wonder how a person like that would have reacted had he or she been one of the first soldiers to land on Normandy!
