    Why do you send receipts? The only time I would expect a receipt is if I paid cash and that is simply to prove that you received it. Cheques, cards and EFT payments all leave a paper trail which can be used to prove payment in the event of a dispute.
    Invoices are normally sent to the person not working in accounts, our receipt are sent to that person so they know that they payments have been made. We also do it to say thank you, we have received the payment.

    Ok, I see. Its more of a courtesy and relationship building task. Not a bad idea I suppose, but I would guess its not too common.
