Our company specialises in global sourcing and imports. As you can imagine we deal with tons of questions on a daily basis, as the industry is about as complicated as law.
My question is this: is it better to have the information pages and or contact pages on your website in a Q&A format or rather article style?
At the moment we have them article style, giving only just enough info so as to encourage the potential client to contact us directly. However this can be problematic in two ways:
- The the visitor reads the information provided and is scared off by the prospect
- The visitor contacts us and asks exactly the same questions as the 10 before.
The possible solution that we have come up with is to change the pages to Q&A style so that visitors can compare their intended imports with others that may be similar. In so doing we hope that they will feel more comfortable with the prospect and contact us anyway. We hope that this would cancel out repeat questions but are slightly concerned that it may be giving away too much "free information."
The information is free anyway but when given after a direct contact there is of course the possibility of closing the deal. An FAQ section is also not the answer because due to the nature of the beast there is no way we could cover them all.
As a mater of opinion would changing the pages to Q&A style potentially increase organic traffic so as to offset the issue of giving away too much "free information?"
Hope all of that makes sense....
