how do you move emails from one pc to another if you dont have a network link.
is there a way of saving all the emails from outlook to a memory card then transfering them without loosing the data already on the other computer?

Yes, you can.
All your Outlook data (calendar, emails and contacts) is contained in a single file on your computer - named outlook.pst. It is usually located at C:\Documents and Settings\user_id\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.
Simply copy that file onto a memory stick and paste it into the same location on the new computer.
Oops - just re-read your post and saw that you did not want to lose what you already had on the destination computer. The method I described above will overwrite the existing data!
Hopefully someone else will tell us how to "merge" the Outlook data from one computer with another...

I've just found the following link, which should do the trick - http://forums.techguy.org/business-a...pst-files.html

thanks will look into it
I use Outlook Express and in an e-mail folder ( eg, inbox / sent items, etc ) I can Select All (ctrl-A) and then drag them to an empty directory in Windows Explorer.
Did a quick test with Outlook and it appears to work the same.
You can also drag the files from Win Explorer back to the Outlook / OE folders.
I use it to 'extract' all customer related e-mails (to seperate files), and then have a program that links the file name to a Customer Information Management (CIM) Application. It scans each extracted file and links to the customer info based on a found name, e-mail address, phone number, etc. The CIM then contains a list of all related e-mails for each client ( with date & time stored ) so I can quickly see all correspondence.
This way the data in my e-mail app remains as small as possible, my client related e-mails get cross referenced before I need them ( so I don't have to go search when I need info ) and they get backed up with all the other info to an off site storage server.
Watching the ships passing by.

You could try ntbackup. It's a back-up utility that was distributed by microsoft with windowsxp. If you have an original install disk you should find it in the 'value add' directory on the disk. It didn't install with a standard installation, you just copy it onto your local machine and run it.
Not sure if it will run on Vista and I doubt very much it will run on Win7 because they played around with the directory structures. Maybe they did an updated version for later OS's.
