It is good to get away from the daily stress of life in the fast lane. So let's dream a bit. If you had all the money in the world, what would you buy? Where would you live? What will you do to get rid of the excess cash?

I will have fun with the banks first. I will deposit R150 million into Nedbank and withdraw it within a week, telling them it was an error. I do not want to use their services, because they suck. It should have gone to ABSA. Then I do the same thing to them and so on, before I move it offshore. I have heard that bankmanagers fly to wherever you live to beg you not to move the money.
I was thinking of buying a Lambo, but I don't think it is a practical car in South Africa. They can only be serviced in Johannesburg as far as I know and I don't want to live there. Also at my age my reflexes are not what they used to be, so there is a good chance of me wrapping it around the first lamppost.
Gee, I am too darn practical!!
If I had a few billion I would buy A good amount of shareholdings in VW and force them to bring back the VW City Golf and add a few extra’s to “classically update it” make it safe and flood the world with them. Secondly I would buy a nice piece of private land in Australia and build myself a nice home with a proper piece of road to drive my little mk1 GTI around and spend some quality time with the family.
I would then focus my money on developing new fuel technologies. And invest a good amount of money into schools, technology and art especially writing. I would love to go to Iceland for a few months take in the sights and sounds.
I would love to see an Iron Maiden Show live with proper VIP tickets. It has always been a dream of mine to see them live. I would also love to go to Russia as I am fascinated with their history maybe invest some money there to promote them a bit better.
Lastly I would buy a little Golf GTI “mk1” and restore it from the ground up but really just take my time with it, make it perfect.
Also I will bring back long play records

I remember the first GTI. A collegue bought one brand new. All I could afford was an Escort 1600 Sport.
Aus and energy research. I think you and this guy might become best buddies then.

Did you see what the price of real estate in Moscow is? A 75m2 flat in the vicinity of the Kremlin and the Red Square goes for almost $1 million.
I have after many years figured out the reason for the Cold War. The USA wanted to bring all those gorgeous Russian ladies to the West but Russia showed them the middle finger.
Don't forget the turntables OK.

As far as it would go ...... :-)
I would bring back 8 track tapes
tec0 (14-Jun-11)
8 tracks were "indestructible" and I will never understand why they were replaced… But these CD’s are the worst invention ever.
