    Airline price war.

I see kulula.com is responding to SAA's low cost carrier Mango.

A price war has erupted between South Africa's two low-fare airlines, with private air carrier kulula.com announcing on Tuesday that it will undercut the fares of South African Airways' newly launched low-cost airline, Mango.

I don't see the kulula.com faithful changing airlines in a hurry - they know who has been keeping airfares down for the last five years or so.

A case of look before you fly. Or buy!
Would-be air passengers who book their flights online or by phone should make absolutely sure they will be taking their flights before making the payments.

This is highlighted by the plight of passengers who booked on the new Mango Airlines - which took to the skies on Wednesday - and later wanted to cancel their bookings.

Fin24 received numerous complaints from customers when they were refused refunds after they'd booked on Mango.

In one case, Richard Perkins made a booking on November 4, but was surprised when the final bill was way above the quoted figure.

He had understood the published fare to be all-inclusive.

"The price quoted was very cheap - and after payment with a credit card - the real figure emerged as R6 100 (for five people)," said Perkins.

"Only after the transaction went through did I see the full price.

Now that is interesting! One of the things that I've always liked about Kulula and 1Time is that the price quoted is the price paid. No funny charges added just before you pay.
