Racial tension in the workplace

This is more me looking for perspective on just how serious an issue this really is.

This is only as serious as the parties make it. With race it is hard as there is so much guilt attached to it. So the sooner it becomes as serious as red hair as a differentiator the better. My thoughts are treat it as a disrespect and not racism. Team building anyone!
