I am busy with a project which includes 15 kwh of lithium LiPo4. I am looking for suggestions.
The batteries cannot be installed in the garage, because the vehicles parked in the garage and the insurance cover, the cable length between the inverter and batteries. There is a fire rated door between the utility room and the garage.
It is in a complex, they cant be visible.
We have a utility/plant room (6mx3m), specifically used for electrical, alarm and CCTV.
The room has a concrete roof, a door leading into the garage (fire door) and a solid wooden door leading into the entrance passage (5 m away from the batteries).
The batteries are located at the back of the room and do not restrict fire exits and more than 1 m from any door or window.
The insurance company have indicated that the house is covered with the current battery location as installed.
However taking another site into consideration and the requirements listed for that property to be covered, I am looking at taking the following steps, just to be on the safe side.
We going to fit fire suppression above the batteries, a lithium rated exhuigesher at the entrance to the room and a fire alarm unit in the room.
