    Lithium battery installation

I am busy with a project which includes 15 kwh of lithium LiPo4. I am looking for suggestions.

The batteries cannot be installed in the garage, because the vehicles parked in the garage and the insurance cover, the cable length between the inverter and batteries. There is a fire rated door between the utility room and the garage.

It is in a complex, they cant be visible.

We have a utility/plant room (6mx3m), specifically used for electrical, alarm and CCTV.

The room has a concrete roof, a door leading into the garage (fire door) and a solid wooden door leading into the entrance passage (5 m away from the batteries).

The batteries are located at the back of the room and do not restrict fire exits and more than 1 m from any door or window.

The insurance company have indicated that the house is covered with the current battery location as installed.

However taking another site into consideration and the requirements listed for that property to be covered, I am looking at taking the following steps, just to be on the safe side.

We going to fit fire suppression above the batteries, a lithium rated exhuigesher at the entrance to the room and a fire alarm unit in the room.

What should I be concerned about and who should be responsible for issuing a notice of compliance for the lithium battery location?

The heat generated by the battery ?

    The toxic fumes?

A Pr engineer, a real engineer, or an MIE who is well versed in SANS 101400?

Would the person need to understand the building structure and impact the fire would have on the building and how long the building material can withstand the fire?

Would the capacity of the lithium battery impact the installation location?

If fire fire suppression is installed inside the battery casing, will it affect the location, or is this a new sales pitch?

What is the minimum level of fire suppression, for a lithium battery?

Where do you find regulations specifically designed for lithium battery installations?
