    Twin and earth in cement.

Are there any regulations that prohibit flat twin and earth from being cemented into walls without being in conduit.

Busy with a coc and just wan't to make sure.

My understanding is that Twin and earth is covered under 6.4.6.2 - Clause 6.3.6 covers Surfix

Manufacturers instructions will come into play as well and have pasted an extract from Aberdare

In short , I would say yes it can be buried in plaster without conduit but if it goes through a concrete beam it would need to be failed

6.4.6.2 Unarmoured multicore cables do not require additional mechanical
    protection if they are installed
    a) under plaster in walls, or
    b) under raised floors, in spaces above ceilings, in partitions or in wall cavities,
but only if they will not be damaged during installation.

6.3.6 PVC insulated multicore cables with a bare earthing conductor
and round cable with metal stiffening
6.3.6.1 The cables may be installed
    a) on the surface,
    b) under plaster,
    c) under a raised floor,
    d) in hollows (such as in walls and partitions) (no additional protection being
    needed),
    e) in roof spaces,
    f) direct in the ground (see 6.4.4.2, unarmoured buried cables),
    g) outdoors or exposed to water (but unless the manufacturer proves that the
cables can withstand ultraviolet radiation, the cable shall be out of sight of
    the sky), and
    h) under screed if protected by an earth leakage protection device with a rated
earth leakage tripping current (rated residual current) IΔn not exceeding
    30 mA.
6.3.6.2 These cables shall not be buried direct in concrete.

    Aberdare Cable Brochure
    Cable Description
    Installation Information
    Properties
Copper conductors to SANS 1411 Part 1, PVC insulated to SANS 1411 Part 2, laid up with a bare copper earth-continuity-conductor
between them, UV stable PVC sheathed to SANS 1411 Part 2.
Complies with SANS 10142/2001“Code of Practice for the wiring of Premises” Section 6, Clause 6.3.6:
    • Surface wiring • Under-plaster wiring • Roof access wiring • Wiring in hollowwalls

The cable shall not be buried direct in concrete or in screed. Joints in the wiring shall be in boxes only.
