A few things to consider before you rush out and fit a bunch of solar panels on the roof. As I am sure you have identified by now, I do everything 120 %, so the roof people have been called in to make sure we dont have a problem with insurance in the future. the lithium battery location is being assessed, etc.
Lets focus on the roof for now, I would strongly advise that you get a roof specialist in before you mount the panels, the plastic/membrane between the roof tile and trusses is just for water proofing, if this is what you think, then best you get advice from a specialist and discuss the cover with your insurance company![]()
Why do you install plastic/membrane between the roof tiles and trusses?
Anyone reading this in the insurance industry? I would like to hear and I am sure many others, especially people who dont have plastic/membrane if you cover claims would be covered, if you house experience or the damage cause by solar panels lifting.
If you plan to install panels, best you do your homework, this is going to be another shyte storm coming.
I have noticed numerous properties in our area with solar panels hanging off the edge of the roof and above the roof pitch, you can kiss your insurance good bye.
We dont fit panels 300 mm away from the pitch and the edge because we like the look of it.
