What I am trying to understand is how places advertise "installer" pices for everyone to see.

You quote a stupid ridiculous 5 % markup and the customer calls to ask why you ripping them off, they can buy it dirctly from the wholwesaler at the same price the instlalers are paying.

An example is a 5 kw Sunsynkl inverter including vat for R22000.00 really, so who is ripping who off, if a wholesaler can sell a unit for this price and you know how much the wholesaler markup product, it seems installers ar egetting the short end of the stick.

The supplier has been using the exchange rate as an excuse for the riduculous prices and price inclreases, so now we have to ask the question what is going on.

It seems the solar market has capped and thanks to the load shedding easing, the demand has reduced to a point that people are now sitting with warehouses full of product, which they need to unload.

IF you look at the prices of solar panels, since the market got flooded with product the price has dropped to record lows.

I am glad I havent installed solar yet, because unless the load shedding starts getting out of hand again the prices are going to just keep dropping.
