In my list of questions I have one is what to do with systems installed already ?

When I spoke with my old boss he told me about sseg.org.za and there is a training portal I see there now. Will try look at that as well. There is a lot of info but as far as I can see all cape town.
He did mention it is for 3 municipalities but I can't find it yet and apparently city of Joburg is one of them.

The NRS certificate covers all the inverters listed on the document. I would asume you just need a copy to attach to the registration.
This is all new to me, so bare with me, I wil ltry share as much infl as possible to make it easy for others who want to "to do the right thing"
You those who think spinning back your meter is the way to go, I think you going to wake up with your cooffee cold and bump on your headthe longe ryou leave it the bigger the bump is going be. Lets hope the metro's come up with some form of relief to ease the burden and encourage people to register.

Ok aweosme ! Will try get the certs as well for the Sunsynk and Deye.
Another question is if you don't back feed do you have to do all this ? I assume yes as it's a simple button press to start exporting. I would think after all this they should pay you for exporting but I did see that you still have to be a net user of the grid...

We need to first understand the definiton, what is an SSEG?
1/ A standalone generator or one connected to the electrical installation?
2/ A mobile trolley inverter backup unit?
3/ An inverter with a battery backup and no solar?
4/ A hybrid bidirectional inverter with a battery?
5/ A grid tied inverter with solar panles attached?
6/ A hybrid bidirctional inverter, with a battery and solar panels?
7/ A wind turbine conected to an inverter?
Do you have to register all SSEG's regardless of wether or not you plan to use the fedabck tarrif, I am told it still ahs to be be registered, even if you have zero export and you will still be liable for the month fees etc (this statement to be confirmed)

Of course it needs to be registered - The minute you install panels it must be registered - Stipulated in NERSA document and the Utilities need to inform Nersa on a regular basis
People expect to install PV , drop acounts to zero and still have the use of a Utility connection for when there are multiply overcast days or at night when the batteries cannot supply and all of a sudden the minisub that was hardly loaded is running at 120%
Somebody needs to pay to maintain minisubs, electrical cables feeding house , street lights etc .
If you dont want to pay the availabilty fee then have the utility remove your cable so that the capacity on the minisub can be used for other connections .
Just one minute while I load adblock, so that I can find the reply block![]()

What is an example of a SSEG?
Solar PV is the main technology type used as an SSEG, but wind, biogas electricity, hydro power and diesel generators connected to the grid are also forms of SSEG.
