    Re-use COC number?

    Good day.
First I have to admit the Title is a bit of clickbait, never thought I would do it, but hey it's Friday.
Since the old yellow COC forms had become outdated the new COC forms are from time to time difficult to obtain.
I want to know if one can copy a blank COC form, without its number, and when I make a mistake on an original COC form I can use the copied COC form and use the number from the original COC on it and then tear up the original COC form.
I can even copy the form on YELLOW paper not to confuse people.
ECB has blank page 2 templates you can download that you can use for sub-db.'s, they don't specify on what colour paper you have to print it though.

What do you do when you make a mistake or you find out the information given by the client was wrong, like the address should be flat c not flat b?

COC's do not need to be yellow.

Nothing stops you from making your own forms as long as they are in the correct format.

You can even have your own unique serial numbers.

Yeah I'm thinking to do that and make my own form on the laptop so I can actually type things in as my hand writing is shocking.

I heard of guys just doing there own numbering and not even purchasing books but I am not sure on that so thinking to buy the books and use the numbering.

I have been doing this for a long time, I purchased a pile of old 4 page many years ago. I have a blank PDF document which I use "fill and sign", I use the number from the 4 page document and attach the old document to the new format and it goes into file 13.

The state of the elctricial industry and lack of control,I cant see how even using the same number for every COC would be a concern, considering that if you pruchased the document and used one page as your template for one specific SFP/IE/MIE and created a reference system by address or job number.

By the way the COC/test report is suppose to be a legal document.

The next time you visit a customer, request a copy of the COC/test report, and let us know what the response was , it's and absolute joke.
Comments are my opinion, unless regulations are attached to support the comment. This is social media, not a court room.

I just want to confirm that what I was doing from time to time was legit
The people at nearby electrician http://nearbyelectrician.co.za/ is busy designing an online coc form that you can save as a pdf and print out and sign. a step in the right direction.

Something like ECASA and ECB but slightly different with discounts for members and even insurance...
Also they can be contacted http://nearbyelectrician.co.za/contact-us/
Maybe one day all coc's can effectively be filed on a computer like SARS or your normal banking apps.
