You would need to establish why the cash book balance for January is R0. If the financial year is March - February, then look at the last calendar year (March-December 2022) to see what transactions may have caused this. The closing balance for December should be the same as the opening balance for January. If that's not the case, then run the data integriy assistant by going to File, Data Integrity and run\ the 4th option to verify the Data Integrity only. If there is a data integrity issue with that account, then it may require a consultant to do a data fix for you.
