I started my little operation many years ago, could write a book on the experience, the cheques in the post, the ups and downs, the different customers, good and bad and everything else that goes with it.

Cut a long story short, what makes it all worth it in the end, is when you get a message from the customer to say thank you for the effort you put in to make sure everything is neat and tidy, the site was cleaned up and most important, tests are carried to make sure it is as safe as you could possibly make it.

Look after customers who appreciate your services, dump the ones who feel that they are doing you a favour by giving you work.

Then customer is always right, you are not really that stupid? It could explain the extremely high fail rate of small business
