    I agree with your method which seemed to be the question at the start of the thread - I assume you doing a COC for everything vs the start of the thread appearing to think that because it is "plug and play" the play side of the installation would not need a COC

    The installation that I have done for the generators has a COC for the equipment I installed and secured to the wall and linked in to the meter, including the earth spike in the gorund and the neutral earth bond in the changeover DB and attached a label which indicates that a VOV device must not be plugged into the plug top. I cant issue a COC for the generator , because I have no control over what the customer rolls to the box to plug in.

    I have found that there is a challenge when the customer links the plug top to the neighbours electricity, using an extention, because of the permanant neutral earth bond in the changeover box. We are working on a solution for when this happens.


    We can sit and discuss things down to the last details, but trying to cover every single challenge is impossible so we just try make it a resoanbly safe as possible at the time.
