Sole Prop Loss Reduce Salary Taxable Income for how long?

Hi All

I know that when you have a Sole Proprietorship (side hustle) and you make a loss with it , Like most sole proprietor ships in the first couple of years, That you can use this Loss to reduce your taxable income from your salary and get a refund on taxes paid through out the year on your salary.
This is similar to what is allowed in the USA, however the USA limits you to only 3 consecutive years of off setting your Loss against your other taxable income.
I would like to find out if there is the same or a similar limitation of 3 or any other number of consecutive losses which would be allowed before SARS stops you from doing this?

As far as I know in SA Tax Law there is no limit, assuming that the loss reduces taxable income but does not exceed it.

Only area to be aware of but really depends on your circumstances are the specific ring-fencing provisions of S20A of the ITA. I think SARS has issued a guide on this specifically.
