Best Automatic Pool Cleaner for Removing Leaves

Hi I am a new member so excuse me if I am posting in the wrong section.

I have a problem that when leaves settle on the Bottom of my In Ground Cement pool my existing cleaner cannot cope with them. Can anyone recommend a Pool Cleaner which will do the Job, and at a price where I will not have to sell one of my Kidneys ?

    Thank you - Tom

Back in the day when I had a pool, I found the trick was to capture the leaves before they sunk by installing a decent pool skimmer leaf catcher. Leaves tend to float for quite a while before they sink, so it worked very well. It was pretty rare I had to deal with a cleaner being jammed with a leaf after installing one.

Try one that does not work with a diaphragm. There are cheap versions available for about R800 which I found will work for years. They do not clog up as easily as a diaphragm version. However Dave's advice is still the best option.
