I see a lot overseas that they use Sprague, how ever I don't know if plastic or metal but appears plastic.

But at the moment I don't see anything wrong with using the Sprague, other than if they need to protect a cable against mechanical impact then I don't think Sprague is meant for that. Heck don't even think PVC pipe is meant for mechanical protection either.

But at the moment nothing stands out for it to be an issue but the taping of the joins is not correct as manufacturer would not allow that. So would need a coupling and glue.
