Hi Gents
I was asked to inspect and provide a CoC for insurance purposes on a lightening protection system on a thatched roof private school. Not sure about this - does it need a specialist?

Yeah I would say get a lightning company in to give some form of letter saying all is good.
Lightning is a special section with its own codes as stated. I would either charge a whack to then pay for a specialist plus my time and effort or tell them to chat to a lightning company
Also lightning will stuff up almost everything. Lightning protection as far as I know is not 100% proof so the moment a direct strike hits you in the hole for a CoC.
Also we don't do CoC for lightning, we can tick a box to say installed...
So if it is installed then tick yes that it is installed...

Thanks Guys. I see it falls under SANS 10313. Quite specialist stuff. Have asked ECASA if they can recommend anyone
