What I know about replacing garage door motors is properly dangerous.
Generally you do not need to do anything with the spring but the reason the motor has been damaged could be because the spring tension needs to be adjusted .
The springs assist in making the lifting of the door " lighter " which takes strain away from the motor
I would assume you you have tried a different battery, or load tested the battery to check its not just the battery?
In many cases, the fuse is blown due to the inrush of current when the power returns after load shedding.

That motor and gearbox is perfect for a spit braai. Fit a new one. 😁😁😁
There may be a fuse in series with the battery.
The click could be the receiver relay.
I have the case where the motor relays, have burnt contacts.
There should be two of them which are wired in such a way that the one relay makes the positive to the motor go one way, and the other relay makes it go in the opposite direction thereby selecting up/down.
