I think expectations of the industry are high ... a lot beer talk at the meetings ... but in reality the people who did everything by the book because it was the right thing to do ... is a thing of the past ... now it has just become a free for all ...he who comes up with hte smartest way to dodge the regs wins ... using the twin+E looking speaker wire ... you have to give the lad or lady credit ... if it looks like twin and feels like twin it must be the right wire for wiring plugs ... just because a label says speaker wire.

What are the implications of using speaker wire ... simple load carrying capacity ... connect a cellphone charger and you would be good to go ... connect a 2 plate stove and you going to light up your life

NOTE 2 In South Africa, it is a statutory requirement that an approved Inspection
Authority (AIA), or a defined competent person, or a person registered in the
professional category in terms of the relevant national legislation (see foreword),
ensures compliance from commencement to commissioning of an electrical installation
where the intention is to supply five or more users from a new point of supply (see the
    relevant national regulation (see foreword)).
    Amdt 1
    8.1 Inspection and tests
Section 5 of the test report provides for the person who carried out the
inspection and testing of the electrical installation as given in 8.5 and 8.6, if
the results are acceptable, to verify that the installation complies with the
requirements of this part of SANS 10142.
NOTE If the test report covers an installation in South Africa that existed before the
publication of this part of SANS 10142 and extensions or alteractions made since then,
both blocks that refer to installations which existed before and after the publication of
this part of SANS 10142 should be marked.

NOTE 1 This calculation gives practical and conservative results. Amdt 1
NOTE 2 The return current path impedance should be considered where applicable
    Amdt 1

8.5.2 Complete the inspection table in the test report by confirming the
statements in item1) to 4) with "Yes" in the appropriate block. "No" answers to
the following statements will prevent the issuing of the report:
    a) conductors are of the correct rating and current-carrying capacity for the
    protective devices and connected load,
Pay attention to voltage rating, voltage drop, current-carrying
    capacity and short-circuit capacity.

I sat read the entire PDF to see where the 19 pages were missing ... The pages missing are related to medical locations ... an example annex L is gone.

    8.6 Testing
Certain tests shall not be carried out in hazardous locations. Due to the
characteristics of the intrinsic safety features of equipment, such
equipment can be damaged by certain tests. Certain tests might be
impractical in existing installations already under power.
    8.6.1 General
NOTE Conduct all tests and complete a copy of the test report for each distribution
board and supply (normal and alternative supplies). Amdt 1

If anything the regs are more relaxed ... so you might get into trouble for telling a customer they cant use cabtyre to wire their entire house ... or get confused about whether or not you have to install a double pole isolator for a ceiling fan or just put everything on earth leakage ... really dangerous stuff.
