I am actually getting rather excited about this whole EV thing ... my fuel bill per month with this new petrol increase ... will exceed R4.5k.

A little run around EV van will be all I need.

I would love an electric van here in S.A.
Much like what Artisan Electrics has and Thomas Nagy over in the U.K.

That would be brilliant here for the short to medium jobs.

I don't get why people assume that buying and running an EV is going to be cheaper than an IC vehicle. Go buy a bike, scooter or a 20 year old 1100 UNO and save lots of cash right now!

The cheapest IC car in the country is R180k

Now look at these idiotic EV things:

Electric cars are mostly adopted by all in Kenya. People go for electric cars for sale as they are environment friendly and also come in your budget. And the best part of having an electric car is that it is very convenient and easy to drive. Also the maintenance cost of electric vehicles is very low.

Transitioning game-viewing vehicles to electric power is a fantastic idea for preserving the natural environment and improving efficiency! Here’s how this can be approached:

Electric Conversion Kits: Instead of replacing entire vehicles, retrofit existing ones with electric conversion kits. These are often cost-effective and allow the vehicles to maintain their current utility.

Battery Requirements: Opt for a battery system with a high capacity and efficient energy density. A lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery is a good choice for its long lifespan and ability to handle daily cycles of discharge and overnight charging.

Range and Power: Design the system for a range sufficient to cover a full day of game drives (e.g., 100-150 km on a single charge). Since speed isn’t a priority, the motor can be optimized for torque and efficiency.

Solar Integration: If possible, add solar panels to shaded rest areas or directly onto the vehicles to trickle-charge during downtime.

Durability: Ensure the electric powertrain and batteries are rugged and weatherproof to handle the bushveld's tough terrain and climate.

Charging Infrastructure: Set up overnight charging stations at lodges or base camps, utilizing renewable energy sources like solar or wind for an eco-friendly approach.

Electric game-viewing vehicles would enhance the experience for guests with their quiet operation while also reducing maintenance costs and environmental impact. It’s a win for conservation and sustainability!

Things here by us work a bit differently than in the big cities. We have two electrical busses that serve the towns transport needs, electrical trikes with solar panel can be rented for R2500 a month. Small electrical Taxis are available to rent for holidaymakers and tours and bigger vehicles are for sale, there is even a small car available
I guess the future is here!
The company is called Eleksa and have a couple of branches nationwide
    Have a blessed day
