COC for new house supply cable

    Hi guys

I've quoting on a job that involves installing a new 16mm airdac from boundary wall into house main DB.
Municipality taking down overhead line as home owners want the line underground.
Will a COC need to be issued for this?
Or is it optional depending on owners?

    Thanks

In theory it is not optional - Is a requirement under the OHSA

The municipality will more than likely want a COC before connecting the underground cable - All you have to do is a coc from meter box to the top of the main switch.

Again in theory a COC must be issued for any electrical installation work. The definition for Electrical installation work is " from point of control to point of consumption"
Since point of control is the main switch in the house not the meter box you should not have to issue a coc - You will go blue in the face having this discussion with Municipality , will be easier to just write it out.

I have done a good job of contradicting myself in one paragraph

As per GCE. I've argued till I'm blue in the face with the municipality that a CoC for a supply cable is an invalid document but they won't connect a supply without it. As GCE suggested, we issue a CoC just for the supply cable and exclude everything else (ie the entire installation).
