    This is a message which I have received from my bank today. It displays the right attitude and we will watch to see the implementation. I can also mention that stopping a debit order is not an issue at FNB. Reverting to my bank quickly put and end to the unauthorised debits from MTN. Are you maybe at the wrong bank Ian?

    This bond issue appears to be a slapgat attitude from bank officials. I am sure that a senior official can look into the matter and have it resolved in no time.
    Are you getting bond statements and can you see the debits and credits on your account? If they have handed you over to a debt collector, he is probably adding his 10% to any monies collected. This could add additional costs to the account. It could also be possible that credits are not recorded on your account, but is lying in a suspense account.
    How did the bank get hold of your wife's banking details to submit a D/o?
    If that was unauthorised, you should demand full refund for the extra charges to return the D/o

    In my experience, I would do the following:
    1. Demand a full record of transactions for the past 24 months at least.
    2. See that interest is calculated correctly and that all your payments are recorded on the same date that you had paid.
    3. Look for any add- ons that could push you further in arrears.
    4. Get a good attorney to approach the bank at a snr level (such as regional manager or at least the regional head of department) with the facts as per the statement to show that you have continued paying and are trying to catch up.
    You may try this yourself, if you can get an appointment.
    5. Let the attorney negotiate a new repayment plan and make sure that your instalment is not due on the last day of the month as your debtors may only pay a week later.

    Apparently I have a large debit which I agreed to pay some debit collecting agency which is now in the arrears and I have not honoured the payment as arranged.

    I havent had a Nedbank account since 1997 ... I play along when I am am not busy ... get into a long chat with the poor sucker stuck in the call centre.

    The best is when they arrive at the gate ... I always hold my dogs on the leads ... with the full kit ... bullet proof jacket ... etc .. then offer to open the gate for them to enter.

    The best was the sheriff for the TV license ... shame the oke had balls ... but couldnt find the TV .... so he couldnt attach any goods for the thousands outstanding in TV license fees ... as I mentioned to him I got divorced more than 25 years ago ... the house keeper took the TV

    As per our telephonic conversation yesterday, I have cancelled you debit order as requested.



    I tried contacting you, however I could not get a hold of you.



    As advised yesterday, with regards to the payment holiday. Standard bank was assisting clients last year due to the Covid pandemic. I did note that you responded around 11 August 2020, that you did not want a payment holiday.



    The debit order must have been activated again in error when your instalment was set back as normal.



    I trust you find the above in order.
