Importing into Pastel - Interstore transfer batch

    Hi Guys

We have implemented Multi-Stores in our Pastel Partner. We purchase centrally into one store and then transfer from there to the other stores where we sell from.

We are creating CSV files to assist with making data capturing more efficient. For some reason my Import feature in the Batch button in the Interstore transfer batch window is grey'd out. How can I activate this feature?

    Thanks and kindest regards,
    Alec

    Hi Alec

You cant import a store transfer batch. According to the sage help file, the reason is because you don't capture stores per batch line, and you cannot therefor import the store information.
You can export a interstore batch, go to the normal batch, and import that exact file, and all the information will be there. You will have to write it as a normal inventory batch reflecting the ins and outs per store. The only pain is you can't print an interstore transfer document. You can only print the batch listing.

There is a long work around..... but it isn't pretty.
Pastel doesn't know whether you are working in normal inv jnl or ist mode. If you did a normal journal and closed it down, you will have an accbsj.000 file, where 000 in the user who created the batch. Rename file to accbsj.xyz. go in on that user whos batch has now disappeared and change from inv jnl to multistore jnl. Close journal screen down. rename batch file back to 000. When you process inv jnl now, it will be an interstore transfer batch, and you can print the transfer document.
Lot of work for little result - rather write the batches as normal inventory journals with an in and an out per item.

Lol. Kevin I had a lekker lag now. Your comment about, not being pretty is brilliant. And based on your explanation I can see why you say that.

Alright, I am going to give the normal inventory journal a try.

    Thanks again!!

    Kindest regards,
    Alec
