Surely it is very dependant on your needs? If you are just using them to buy groceries every month, then get the card with the lowest annual fees. If you need to have access to unsecured credit readily available (say to purchase equipment for your business), then there could be merit in it.
Even "expensive" credit cards are still cheap when compared to other accounts. What I pay in monthly account fees is about what I pay once a year to have a credit card.
