Claiming Input VAT on free stock

    Good morning,

Please advise...if a VAT registered vendor supplies us with free inventory, is there any way that we can claim input VAT on the value of the item, particularly since we will need to charge output VAT on selling this stock.

    Thank you!

As far as I know no as you will need to prove the VAT claim with an invoice if it is queried.

However I am not a financial expert...
