Letter to Receiver of Revenue to waive penalties

    Good Evening Team,

Anyone has an example of a letter to SARS (in our case RoR) motivating to have penalties waived? Main reason for us, just failed to submit returns for a period of 3 yrs...wasn't in the know plus the business did not really operate.

    Thank you for assisting!

State that you were under the impression that you were under the threshold, and did not need to submit the returns.
Which is true, or not? Otherwise, not a valid reason.
