Update, soap dish hinge didn't last si I bought and installed bell push in external weatherproof electrical enclosure. Bit bulky but does what I wante.

Not too surprised TBH, I liked the inventive thinking with the soap dish but was worried about the build quality and whether the sun would destroy it.

Came across another solution on you tube. Cut top off cold drink bottle, affix it to door and unscrew cap to press bell. Only problem is that most callers will probably not put cap back on.

A piece of stainless steel square tube (50x 50) a piece of chain and a solid square (10x10) ...hang the square on the chain inside the the tube ...paint black so it doesnt get stolen ...rattle to ring the bell.
