You could go one stage further and fail glands with a stuffing rubber that has a round hole when there's a flat twin cable going through it because officially you should use one of these with an oval shaped hole;
I see where you're coming from but I'm not usually quite that pedantic to be honest, if there's a gland or an alternative entry system and it's maintaining the IP level and providing reasonable strain relief I wouldn't fail it.
