Does anyone have any experience with this compliance tester?

There is one for sale at a second hand shop for about half the price of a new one.
Is it a good buy?
Thanks
Paul

I don't t know that meter but what I did for the same kind of money was buy a Fluke 1653B from the UK, ship it, pay import tax (it was about R1500) and I got a new meter out of the box for about R12000 (compared to R32000 for the same thing here).
Worth looking into if you are going to spend that kind of money.

The Major-tech is a rebranded Kyoritsu, Japanese manufactured as far as I know. I have Kyoritsu testers I bought many years ago as an apprentice and I highly rate them and still use them for that matter. That said, as Skating Sparks says unless money was no object I would also look at importing your own 17th edition MFT tester from the UK and save yourself a fortune.

Can you please direct me to a supplier in the UK for flukes I am in the market for Fluke 1738 and Fluke 289 and Fluke 279FC and Fluke 438 II.

And

are two UK companies I've purchased from in the past. Both were great companies to deal with.
I think both would be happy to ship to SA but I'd suggest you might save on transport/shipping costs if you organize your own courier.

Guys,
Thanks but I don't believe I will save any money.
I found a brand new Kew 6015 in a pawn shop for R2500. Some really minor corrosion in the battery compartment. How do I know it is new? - the leads were still sealed in plastic bags.
There is a (also new though I havent seen it) Kew 6016 for R11000 on the East Rand. Still undecided if I should buy it or not.
I have just bought a Toptronic insulation tester from cash converters/crusaders for R1200. Also almost brand new. Still has the plastic on the meter glass. Spot on accuracy using resistors.
There are a lot of these things out there for less than half price of new. Especially at pawn shops near casinos on the East Rand!!
