I need help in creating GL sub accounts

Hi

I am using Pastel Partner V11 and want to create sub accounts for my fuel used. Am I doing this correctly? Please Help.

Main Account - Motor Vehicle Expenses

Do I then choose 001 for Fuel or do I choose it for Gary's fuel?
I am not sure if I can create sub-account inside a sub account?

Hi Proppie - as far as I know you cannot create sub accounts inside a sub acount.

It looks like you have the method right. If you already have entries in your main fuel account Pastel will move these into the first sub account you create. You can then create the rest of the sub accounts you need and journalise the amounts you want to from the first sub account to the others. You can't create sub accounts within sub accounts but what you could do is create two main fuel accounts and then create sub accounts within those. You would have to be careful then when allocating to all these accounts. Could be complicated.

If you would like to split your fuel between persons / employees, you can make use of the project functionality.

Thanks Dellatjie...sorry for the delay in answering your post. I had an IT problem. I love working with projects, so I am going that route.
