    Loads of people asked him, even his owen ANC people. He did not step down. No petittion will help either in my view. He needs to be "shot/shut down"

    When JZ made the run for the Presidency, I felt that it was more for escaping his legal troubles at the time than it was about having a vision of leading the country.

    When he was successful, my greatest concern from there was that there was no apparent exit strategy - i.e he couldn't end his term unless he could count on being replaced with someone "reliably favourable to his personal cause", or he could make the arms deal issue disappear.

    Practically, the problem remains.
    The Seriti Commission is so blatant a white wash job, it has zero credibility. And there is no clear successor, let alone one that can be counted on by JZ to protect him.

    So I tend to agree there'll be no voluntary stepping down...

    NPA's decision to drop Zuma charges 'irrational', set aside.

    It had me reading some old history, where I came across this post which turned out to be painfully true -
