I got the Vox 100GB last month at 50% off I see now they have a 300 GB package at 50% off. Can't you get 1 gb free packages from most ISPs and just test those.
Only stress when you can change the outcome!

I am with Axxess and have been fighting with them for the past 6 weeks, which is when things started to get bad. This is not the first time.

We have Telkom here - who found nothing. We have done the router tests etc.
Axxess are blaming me the router and telkom and I say its an Axxess problem.
The speed is fine over the weekends - usually about a 19ms latency and 8.7Mbps download speed.
Look at this mornings offerings - 610ms with a .24 speed - the upload speed is more.
During the week its a pain - I cannot get anything done.

Anybody have some ideas......yes I know move would be the best one - but to where?
This is terrible, where are you based?
Is this the speed you get via WiFi or Ethernet?

The reason I ask about WiFi is because I found that if my router is on the same channel as many other routers the speed is $h1t because they all try to talk over one another. I use a Android tool "WiFi Analyzer" that shows all the routers on all the available channels. If you find that you are on the same channel as many others then find a nice clean channel and set your router to that channel....then of course restart and reconnect.

    I am in Durban.
Use ethernet to my main machines and wifi to my laptop and guests machines. I do not notice much speed difference on my laptop.

I have played with the channel settings cause I also have interference from my security beams which are wireless. Keep coming back to the auto setting there as it seems to work the best - does not seem to be an issue.

I am considering iBurst uncap as i am capped at the moment.
I heard that Multi Source bought iBurst not for iBurst but to re-utilise the frequency ranges that they have the licences for. So not sure if iBurst has a future?

Message from Axxess late yesterday -
We are glad to let you know that our Network Engineers have managed to free up more capacity on the network - thus improving network performance during peak periods.
So they finally admit they have a problem......Today my line is better - not the greatest but at least I can send this out without having to wait forever or re-type it as the line goes down.

Marq I would check if you have coverage for burst in your area. I had average coverage in my area and when I installed it, it was terrible, so burst went out the window as well.

if i have to remain with a capped line for now i don't really mind, i know of a local company that gives out a wifi but there cost are double that of iBurst, That said we have very good iBurst cover in our area so good that my friend use it to play very heavy online Games with it with virtually no lag. I don't play that type of games i am more into strategy myself. But for services like unotelly i would like to have uncap or at least the 25Gb+ option for R380 per month.

    iburst 25Gb+

I canceled my DSTV a while ago and go to Musica Look & Listen and Loot for my DVDs also the Local Pick and Pay have a lot of movies going for R100 for 2 at times so I am happy with the DVDs as i get to watch the extras on the disk and I get to watch the full series movies without 15min of advertisement and sudden cut outs... Also everything is HD quality. Apple I-tunes is my music store and honestly i don't miss DSTV at all "accept for the boxing" that is the one thing i miss... hence why i am looking into unotelly.

I had a similar odd problem with my ADSL. The line would be terrible when the wind blows. I got Telkom out a couple of times and each time they would test, fiddle, find nothing wrong and leave. I got tired of it and walked the length of the road and photographed the entire lines and each pole. I wrote them a nasty email, with all the photographs and told them that I was going to put it all on Facebook along with a splurb about how k@k their service is. I asked them whether I could cable tie a new line along there old line and whether they would connect it for me. The following a day a whole squad of them arrive to fix the line...

lo and frigging behold, after 4 month of stuffing about they tell me that the line passes through a tree and that the movement of the branches affect the "temporary line that was installed long ago which has become my line" ....no $h1t Sherlock..

They eventually installed an new line for the entire street and the problem is gone...permanently.

The reason it took so long to fix is that the technicians don't log what they did to solve a problem. Johnny comes out and moves me to the blue and white wire. Pietie then comes and moves me to the green and white wire and then Gert comes a month later and puts me back on the blue and white wire....and nobody knows that all those wires are stuffed because Phineas spiced it in with duct tape the last time my neighbour complained....

Brain power she isss not beeg in Telkom!

In Cape Town? Why don't you just say you had a permanent problem with ADSL?
