Nothing at all. The neighbours could bitch and moan and the municipality may write them a letter one day. I have people coming and going all the time, students, architects, couriers and more. My one neighbour is a policeman. Everybody thinks its great that there is so much activity during the day because it keeps vagrants away. We are always at the house so we also end up looking after the neighbours dogs and house while they are away.

The bottom line is that one can do most anything in life provided that you sell the idea correctly. Sell the positives to the neighbours i.e. the guys keep an eye on the neighbours property, they chase away vagrants that loiter around the street, they could look after the neighbours animals if the need arises, they are able to receive parcels on behalf of the neighbours etc.

We have been working from home for about 8 years without any real issues.

No not at all, I think that we are all simply practical people.

My neighbor had a problem where another person in the road got caught for servicing trucks in his driveway, the inspectors visited the road, the guy next door got caught servicing cars which cost him around R50 000 in fees and fines.

I have been running my business from home for over 20 years, when they tried to nail me I told them my hobby, woodworking has nothing to do with my electrical business.
Comments are based on opinion...not always facts....that's why people use an alias.

A guy up the road from us does a bit of panelbeating and resprays cars in his garage. I sometimes stop to admire his work. He restored a BMW 2002 which looks really nice. I must admit that he isn't much of an engine doctor, he is still under the impression that revving a car really hard will magically fix a timing problem...

I think that people should rather take some time out to admire those that try do do something for themselves to get by rather than bitch and moan....
