What must I as a seller of secondhand goods offer in terms of a warranty, say for instance if I sell my Skiboat, must I give a warranty on the engines or not. And for how long this an urgent call please.
Thanks .
Alec.

one would need to know if you are a dealer in second hand goods or is this your own ski-boat that you propose selling privately. If the latter be the case, then may you may sell it "as is", no warranty implied or given
Thanks for the info, wanted to buy secondhand motors from a dealer and he would only offer one month warranty.Sorry to say he lost on me buying from him.
Thanks Again.
I think it is still admiral that he was prepared to give you 1 month warranty.
One has no idea where the motors were used, and if they were abused, so giving a warranty on an unknown is a huge risk. Further, is that the buyer has a huge influence on the motor performance by usage as well, again which the seller has no control over and is also investing with respect to the warranty issued.
Any way I can not see any one giving any warranty on a second hand motor.

In that case the Consumer Protection Act comes into play - provided you're a qualifying consumer.
Just how much that affects warranties in the motor industry I don't know. From what I can tell so far, apart from more paperwork to sign up front, it doesn't seem to have changed the warranty offerings much.
