Plugging the bugs even with the later rolling code protocols is an ongoing cat and mouse game. They're not as secure as the marketing suggests

Code rolling .... or code hopping as we call it in SA is the best we have at the moment. Nothing is fool proof but it is far superior to the old dipswitch remotes that are slowly being replaced. Its like anything - you will always get someone who is clever enough and has the money for the equipment to copy remotes ! But as I said it is 99% foolproof at the mo !

I find it interesting actually, for example I cannot find anyone that is able to clone my car's alarm's remote… Not one person or shop in a 25km radius was able to provide me with a solution or replacement remote.

So yes it is secure but if it goes you are left with no alternative to replace. That is just stupid. Basically every time a car remote goes you have replace the whole system? That is not security that just BS.

I feel security must also consider convenience. If something is that secure and something does go wrong your own security feeds you to the wolfs...

    Hi Kevin,

Sorry for posting the picture so late, things are just abit hectic at the moment.

The picture is not very clear as the receiver is located in a difficult to reach area.

Let me know if its okay to view.

    Thanks,
