Today's Madam & Eve cartoon was (I think) very insightful. Here it is,

I think that the challenges of present day South Africa have left a large number of our politicians (from ALL parties) hankering for another time. Have they evolved? More importantly, have we evolved?
It reminds me of our philosophy classes at university. In one of them we were discussing paradigm shifts. Essentially what one philosopher said was that a paradigm only dies when the people who live in that paradigm also die - essentially there is some "mass" that needs to be transferred. I wonder when the old guard of politicians will "die" (leave politics) for the new paradigm to prosper.
