In my opinion only, the proprietor did not want to share cost to install a security system.

I'm confused because on another thread you said "security was a fallacy" anyway ...... but now you want security !!!

The guard is actually there to be seen and if you give the guard the proper tools like security cameras he/she will be effective. Having someone racing down to the parking lot not so much…

Oh so the guard with the camera is not a fallacy ? .............. Got news for you - the guard route is the worst route to go - I have never seen a guard turn down a bribe to look the other way, so in my opinion guarding is a fallacy !!

Sadly both the guard and the camera system was rejected. So the notion is what it is… That said I do agree with you that it wouldn't have worked if the guard was there and accepted money. So in general how would a security expert such as yourself deal with the problem?

Without a doubt ..... Up in Gauteng it has become a thing to steal number plates apart from other things ........ reason for this is the e tag toll system !!

I have a car dealership customer ...... he has had guys coming on to his lot and told the guard to dissappear ..... and they take what they want from the cars including wheels, mirrors, windscreens, number plates etc. Now he has decided to up his security with other measures so that they cannot just intimidate the guard !

Simple solution actually we want a reason in writing and signed by the proprietor why he will not allow for our guard and or a security system. This will proof that we tried to take responsibility but was hindered by the proprietor to do so.

We hope that would be enough to keep him responsible for our damages if not, then our second step is more drastic, we move "all of us" he will lose a $h!t load of money in the coming months.
