    Magic the Gathering

    Does anybody collect these cards?
I've recently taken a renewed interest in them. I enjoy the artwork and the gameplay is a fantastic mix of skill and luck.

I've never played, but there used to be a group of guys who went to college with me who played often. It looks interesting, to say the least.

It is fun game and seriously addictive… Just be careful when collecting there are actually imitation cards. The link provided is a 2004 but still relevant for most older cards. What some criminals would do is they would mix in a few "fake but seemingly valuable" cards into a bunch of lesser quality cards and sell them on for an unbelievable price.

If you then catch on that the cards of interest was fake it will not help much because it was mixed in with real lesser valuable cars that are real and the criminal seller will just claim he/she was also a victim.

So just take care when buying second hand cards.

I used to collect and play Magic the Gathering for a few years. It really is a fascinating game, requiring a lot more thought and skill than most card games.

Eventually though, I realised that the investment required, both in time and money, is far beyond what I can afford at this time in my life. To build a decent deck or 2 requires a heap of money spent buying boosters and such things, as well as time spent finding people to trade with. Then you've still got to find time to go to places where they actually play.

Unless you've got a bunch of friends who play regularly, I can't say it's worth it.

            Good game though.
