Oh my shattered nerves! Last night's game against Sri Lanka turned out to be quite a thriller.....when Malinga took 4 wickets (off 4 balls) it looked like we might snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, but, PHEW, we managed to hang in there for the last three runs
I had already dozed off, in the secure knowledge that the next SA game would be screened soon, when I heard the first - "oh okay, we are still well in and ahead " coming from the lounge. This progressed to uhoh! Then...... you gotta be kidding me Then.....OH SH*T Then.....I can't watch this, Ooooh NOoooo with each ball.................until a very sedate "oh thank heavens that's it!"

Well at least we shouldn't need medication tonight. On paper it should be no problem.
Care to cast your mind back to the warm-up game against Ireland?
Irish skipper Trent Johnston (4-40) and Dave Langford-Smith (3-30) reduced South Africa to 91-8 before Andrew Hall (67 not out) and Robin Peterson (29) added 85 for the ninth wicket to help their team post 192.
Ireland then batted well and were cruising towards the target with 139-4 before being bowled out for 157.
After Bangladesh things should get interesting. The Windies will be looking for a win to stay in the running, and NZ is looking VERY dangerous. I'm most interested in the NZ/RSA game. Most important thing — keep winning
It seems to me that the South Africans are making heavy weather out of all their games though? Australia seem to be in better form? Hopefully we will peak for the right games!!

I'm just hoping that it will be something like the world cup from 8 years ago. Australia just managed to slip into the semi's, also making it look like really hard work, and then went on the win!
I suspect that the pitches have been giving both our bowlers and batsmen some trouble, but I think that we are getting used to them. Pollock and Ntini bowled much better yesterday. I still don't know why Smith won't just play a spinner for a couple of games — Petersen can bowl and bat, just give him chance!
Watching us play against Ireland last night, I thought it was like a big V8 idling up a hill - there was only ever going to be one winner despite the fact the foot on the accelerator was not flat to the floor.
