    Driving barefoot illegal?

I didn't know till I heard the advert about a protection for ladies shoes that driving barefoot is illegal. Is this a fact and if so, what is the possible risk or reason behind it?

I always drive barefoot even if I'm wearing flats and I also tested for my drivers barefoot and the traffic cop didn't warn me. I find I have more control on the pedals if I don't have shoes on

To the best of my knowledge it has been illegal even before I got my license like 47 years ago.
The reason given then was that your foot can "sweat and slip of the pedal "

    Well.............there you have it !

I remember some told me it was illegal but I never heard of anyone getting fined for it to date. There's a few other weird offenses listed in this post like having your elbow sticking out of a rolled down window. If the car's got mirrors then it wouldn't be a hazard in my opinion because it wouldn't be sticking out beyond the silhouette outline of the vehicle.

          Extract from that article :

          Violation Fine Pts
          Driver not licensed R 1 250 4

So do I understand this right ? Your license, (which you do not have), will attract 4 demerit points ?

            Your charm must be awesome

I once got warned many years ago for driving while not wearing a shirt. Nowadays I'd understand the objection, but in those days... couldn't make up my mind if it was actually law or the cop was just jealous.

He didn't complain much about the near topless passenger - maybe if I was wearing nipple caps too it would have been OK

Well I saw with my own eyes people drinking alcohol in public while walking to the store with their booze buy bread and walk towards a pickup single cab with his wife and baby in the cab got into the pickup and drove off while enjoying his drink... Spinning the pickup every chance he got.

Oh and the Metro Cops was parked next to them... They didn’t even bother...

The point of the story is this laws is only broken if the cops say so...

I could do without the picture in my mind that just conjured up.

Aah - let me help you with that image problem.

                  Gunston 500 is on
Young hard-bodies all over the place

                  Good times...

                  Oh - the nipple caps

Actually calling them nipple caps is probably a bit extreme. It was a star shaped stickini.
And don't sweat it - I'd rather pay a fine than wear 'em myself

Well, I guess they should have all these offences on the K53 book so we know!

The hardest part about wearing a 'stickini' is tearing the hairs out afterwards.
