I've been selling on Bid or Buy for a while now and it works extremely well. The time has come to move onto Ebay but I have run into a little snag. Maybe somebody has an answer: When you create an item it tries to calculate shiing charges based in the US. How do you force the listing to simply state that the buyer needs to contact the selling to determine shipping costs. We have been up and down and tried all sorts of options but there does not seem to be an obvious way to do this. It is possble because many items listed are set up this way - I just can't figure out how!

Hi Adrian
I am currently trying to solve this problem myself. I spent a considerable amount of time on the phone to eBay last night but to no avail. They promised to sort it out, but when I tried to list again this morning, it still wouldn't work. The main issue was that I am an unsited member(registered with eBay.com, but not living in the US), which is probably the reason you also struggled. Have you had any solutions as yet? I will let you know the outcome of my attempts today, if they are successful. -
Hi Lou-Anne,
We actually managed to sort it out. The Ebay main editing screen is broken. It forces you to put in US shipping (it must think that the entire world lives in the US). We proved it over and over again. What you do is this:
1. Register the item and set a flat rate for US shipping.
2. Doesn't matter if you have international shipping set up.
3. Confirm the item.
4. Open the item and now press Review on the top part of the item page.
5. Change the shipping as follows:
US Shipping
Cost varies by buyer location
Package Type
Package (Package or thick envelope)
Weight
1+ to 2lb
Service
UPS Ground (1 to 6 business days)
Handling time
5 Business days
International Shipping
Cost varies by buyer location
Ship To
Worldwide
Service
UPS Worldwide saver
The item will now come up as
Shipping cannot be calculated for your area. You can contact the seller - opens in a new window or tab for additional shipping costs and services
