    Car sales Contract?

Ok the story goes that if you buy a car that you normally have 7 days to cancel the contract. Now I was told that this is no longer in effect. I don’t know, however my friend is in a process of buying a car and the salesmen assured him that the superficial damage to the car will be fixed within a few days.

It has been two weeks and the car was never returned is still being fixed! In the meantime my friend is sitting without transport. Every time he phones them he gets a different story! Is there a law that can help him to break the contract?

I'm guessing that if it was part of the purchase agreement that they repair the vehicle within a period of time and they haven't then they have failed to meet their contractual obligations so he should be able to get his money back.

Got my hands on the agreement and on the second page 26 26.1 “Right to Terminate: You may terminate this Agreement any time by- surrendering the Goods to us; and paying us any remaining amount demanded by us or settling the Agreement."

OK... Call me stupid but why the hell would anyone give something back and pay for it? One might as well just pay for it and keep it... Or am I missing something”

that's to cover themselves should the car have declined in value. if the car was being paid off in installments and after a year it is returned, the market value will be less.
