    History of a Steam Engine

    Any pointers appreciated here :

I have "acquired" a large South African Railways Steam Engine "number" -- an oval brass number that I would imagine comes from the side of the engine's cab.

It weighs about 11kg, and bears the number "365" with the letter "S" below that.

Could anyone tell we where I can obtain some history / specs relating to this specific steam engine ?

You've just got to love speciality sites

Those guys got quite technical. I'm impressed. My only thought that might have any value after reading that is if it was given as an award of some sort, it probably would have been engraved somewhere.
