Hello, I'm Back, (SA Top Sites Vs Za topsites)

According to the little welcome window it was 3 weeks ago that I last logged in. It felt much longer.

Three weeks ago I wanted to add the little tag that's at the bottom of this page "ZA Topsites" to my webpage jaffyHead. Instead of putting in ZA I punched in SA Top Sites into Google and came across a site that does exactly the same.

At the time I thought that they had changed the webpage, because the first time around, I was unable to register on ZA topsites. Their page is not Firefox friendly. I sent them an email explaining my problem, and they reply, "get IE", I replied, "get @#$%&".

ZA Topsite have 67 registered members and SA Top Sites have 1,139.

So how would TFSA fair on SA top Sites?
At an average of a 123 hits, TFSA would be in the top 70 of SA Top Sites.

    Anyway great to be back.

Great to have you back, Vincent

SoftDux is right. ZA Topsites is a clone.

I've kept an eye on where we would feature on SA Topsites and once we can make page 1 I'll probably load them. We'll get there

Our 10 day average unique hit count is rather low at the moment - in fact lower than it has been since the traditional festive season lull. We're normally in the 180-200 range.

It's partly because the ZA Topsites server went AWOL for 24 hours, and then the effects of the long weekend. The long weekend probably hit lots of sites, though. It depends on your theme as to how weekends affect you.

Between TFSA and a couple of other sites, I've messed around with a number of aggregators and site trackers including SA Topsites and they all have one thing in common. They produce surprisingly little referral traffic!! Just take a look at the Unique Out columns to see what I mean.

However, they do have other benefits. For example, they are a few clicks quicker than logging into Google Analytics to check over a few of the headline stats I like to keep an eye on.

I see SA top sites is loaded. I'm sure that you'll make the first page by the end of the year, maybe a bit sooner - let's say August, my prediction.

          By May I reckon

          We'll see.

I'm gently disappointed. I was hoping we'd see our rank of 1000 and something and then could plot our charge up the ranks

Dave, under what section did you register TFSA?

Communities (& something). The other possible option was Business Services, but I thought I'd be different just for once.

The categories are a little wierd, imho.

After taking a look at what was in the Communities section, I changed our category to Business Services. We would have cleaned house, but looking at the other sites in the Communities category, we were in the wrong pond there.

It looks like we crack the top 70 tomorrow. Time to turn on the afterburners next week to get us into the top 50 by May
