My youngest daughter turned 21 yesterday. Kinda amazing to think that that both my daughters are well sorted independent young ladies. One can only hope that their dreams come true and their lives turn out the way they would like.
It is said that we are as old as we feel - Some days I feel like I am 75 and others 150 :-)
I knew a 80 year old guy a couple of years ago - he was really thin and his hair was totally white. He struggled to breathe so he could only walk a couple paces. I went to visit him and I asked him how he is -
He said "Oh Jes@s I'm going to die"
I said "No man, you are as old as you feel"
I never forgot his comeback: "I feel as old as I look" - ...yeah...what can one say...
An old radio ham friend of mine left this world and went home about 6 years ago. He was 85.
I was the last person to see him alive. Sitting at his bedside, holding hi's hand as he left.
10 minutes prior to that, I asked him ..... Trevor, in all your years, what has meant the most to you ?
Hi's reply was that in 85 years of life, he could not remember going to bed hungry once.
So, forget all the luxuries and be grateful for water and food.
